Only Team Fantomen story ever appeared in Indrajal's 27-year run and it's worth re-reading!Based on Falk's original concept of "V" or Vulture,we see a new encounter between Phantom & this vicious gang, whose only aim to rob weak & dead, much like the filthy nature of their worshiped bird - Vulture! The unique part of this gang IS that every member has to be bald with a V tatoo on their forehead.
Before reading this story,I already had read Falk's original plot on V(published in Ijc No.171 & later re-printed aswell) and hence enjoyed it even more, allthough then had no idea that it's not a Falk-story,as the script was as good as any Falk's classic with top-grade illustration that's quite matching with Sy Barry's standard!
Wonder why ToI never publisher any other story from TP,might be higher costing was the issue??

Re: No.341 & 342 - Mystery of the Vaccul Castle

nice write-upz on Team Fantuma story. It's surprising to see Indrajalz had published only this Vaccul story, while if I'm not wrong, they have published all Charlton stories which are shame of any Fantum series!this might be costing or what? :_(

Between, the story is very nice, some very selected GOOD stories from Team.

One of my all time favourites. Nice art with nice covers tho Part 2 had a blown up interior page as cover.
Read when I was a kid. Then I felt it was a bit gruesome & horrifying....dunno why....

To read some real gruesome & horrifying Phantom tale, you have to read many other EGMONT tales, drawn by master artist Felmeng! They love violence a bit more than what Falk used to(& allowed to)!!

Exotic yes!Teaf Fantomen stories are bit different in taste than Falk's version, but not many will suit you if you have introduced with Falk's world first! Yes,some of their stories are just mind-blowing,some are ok but many are random plot, very little to do with the Phantom or Betal, that we know....

Few artists did real justification...

i have read less stories by falk and more by other writers. i am a kid of the late 90's and early 2000's. and during that time there used to be those half yearly issues. i dont remember the company. they used to bring out the issues, half phantom and half mandrake. but as far as i remember, they were not falk, other writers had written them. so mayb like you all i wasn't introduced to falk first. and you may agree with me on the fact that the writers or heroes we come across first or in our childhood are the ones we tend to like most

Those were from Egmont(India) series that ran within 2000-01...yes,u r right, there were 2-in-1 stories(13 books) of both Falk's charcters' and while Mandrake stories were from Falk-Davis era,all Phantom had Fantomen's origin, and some were/are just superb. Rest,as u know, typical Sacndanavian-taste based and bit odd for Indian fans.

There was alos a short 4-book series from 'Deb Sahitya Kutir' from Egmont's stories on 2003 - all on glossy pages. We might discuss that on a different thread though....

PS - I have reviwed one of those stories from that 13-book dual series here : http://indrajalforum.forumer.com/topic/208175/EgmontInd-8-Ku-Klux-Klan

And yes,u r right, the characters of periods we introduced first,we love most. This is why I love Fredrick's Mandrake and Barry's Phantom most...while it took sometime to like/accept Davis and Moore's respective versions from the earlier era....
